PROJECT: Advising on the energy provider’s strategy to enter the EV market
Challenge: As one of the UK’s leading energy suppliers, EDF Energy wished to support the transition to electric mobility by developing a range of products to their domestic and commercial customers. ZCF commissioned on a range of projects to support their direction.
What we did:
ZCF was engaged to provide a brief to the company on the EV market, taking into account projected trends and provide an overview of where the market was heading to enable them to create a strategy that offered value to their customers.
After a number of workshops with senior staff at their Brighton HQ, ZCF was then further commissioned to support the development of an online product microsite. The site was aimed at commercial customers to offer them fleet solutions alongside a charging offer and tariff. ZCF’s marketing manager worked with the team at EDF and their chosen digital agency, helping to scope the website’s structure, mapping out the customer journey and helping firm up the proposition. ZCF continued to work as a consultant to the project team, providing content on electric vehicles and infrastructure in an easy to understand way.
As EDF’s offering has developed since then and the team has grown, ZCF was again commissioned, through the European Energy Centre, to host a full day workshop with new members of the team to provide a background to the EV market and build knowledge on the industry’s future.
In other projects, ZCF has also worked closely with EDF Energy in France on a number of European funded projects including partnering with them on a cross-border project which looked to install rapid charge points in the south of the UK to provide a seamless network with France.
